I really don't understand why you would take that trinket over +48 ranged AP or +2% crit. I am hard pressed to think of any situation in which I need a second volley right away. There is such a maelstrom of activity here. And the set bonuses don't make it half worthwhile to wear them anyway.Īnd the trinket. The rest of the set is crappy compared to BS, even, or the crit gear from DM. Not bad, but again, it's not near as good as GS. Two best pieces of the set are the neck piece and shoulders (you even pick up some AP in the bargain).
Not to mention, this is invaluable in PvP, where if I waste my FD by accident by not noticing a DoT on myself or simply trapping the wrong guy, I get a second chance before being stomped out by a warrior. A shorter FD cooldown would save the healer mana that he would spend on healing me, so he could perhaps do some AOEs of his own, or even mana up quicker for a faster run.
This often gets me a crapload of aggro which I have a hard time getting rid of. I usually wait for the warrior to round up the mobs, then drop an explosive trap, feign death, then volley. Often, if I ran DM without a mage, I am responsible for a good part of AOE damage. Someone commented as to why you would want to feign death more often than 30 secs in an instance, just don't steal the aggro. I agree that -2 secs to the cooldown isn't an amazing bonus to have, but if more items of the sort were introduced, let's say up to -5 or -10 secs, I would consider them extremely useful.
